TV & Shelf Mounting: Project Planning
Screen size alone is not enough information to plan a TV mount, just as shelf length alone does not establish what a shelf can hold. Brush & Bright assesses TV and shelf mounting in Park Ridge using the actual product specifications and proposed wall. Bring the model, bracket details, and your preferred arrangement before installation is scheduled. We consider how the item will be used, the support available, and the clearance around it. That allows placement and suitability to be reviewed together, with wall repairs, cable organization, or other additional work identified separately.
Create a short mounting specification
For a TV, provide the model, product weight, bracket link, and the movement you expect from the mount. An extending bracket needs to be assessed in its working positions, not only folded flat against the wall. For shelving, identify the system, dimensions, and intended contents. Include the manufacturer’s mounting information when available. If you already purchased hardware, keep its instructions and packaging. A collection of supplied anchors does not establish that every wall is suitable, so the proposed attachment needs review before installation.
Check the arrangement from the room’s perspective
Show the wall with nearby seating, cabinets, doorways, and outlets. Describe where you normally watch the television or how you plan to reach the shelf. Mark a preferred height on a photo instead of making test holes. Allow for doors or moving brackets to open without striking adjacent items. If a former mount has left damage, photograph that area and state whether it needs finishing. Moving a mount a few inches can create an entirely different relationship to the available support, so the final location must be assessed on its own.
Keep mounting and other trades clearly separated
Tell us if the wall includes tile, plaster, masonry, or an unknown finish, and whether you know of previous changes inside it. Electrical outlet relocation is not part of this service. Concealed cables require separate consideration; ordinary equipment power cords should not simply be placed inside the wall. Identify the surface cable arrangement you would like reviewed and any equipment that will sit beneath the TV. Access for handling large items and working at the wall belongs in the estimate, along with any separately agreed patch or paint work.
