Define the new trim you want installed
Use these details to separate a new installation from localized repair and finishing work.
Baseboards and interior casing
Identify the trim type and locations rather than a general woodwork request.
Profile and material selection
Share product references, dimensions and whether matching is important.
Rooms and measured runs
List each wall or opening with approximate measurements.
Corners and joining details
Show corners, short returns and where new trim meets existing pieces.
Existing trim and adjacent finishes
Say what stays and what may need separate removal.
Painting and material responsibilities
Agree supply, preparation, paint work and room clearance.
Plan the installation in five steps
Locate: List rooms and openings.
Select: Share profiles and materials.
Coordinate: Explain floors and adjacent finishes.
Define: Agree installation and finishing limits.
Arrange: Confirm materials, access and timing.
Choose installation or repair as the starting point
This request is for new interior trim, such as baseboard runs or door casing, rather than simply securing a loose section or filling localized damage. Identify the rooms and openings, what is already installed and what you want changed. A mixture of retained and new trim may need a different approach from an entirely new room. If the issue is limited damage, the existing baseboard or door-and-trim repair service may be the more appropriate starting point.
Select the profile before estimating the material quantity
Share a product link, cross-section or safe existing photo, with the intended width and thickness. State whether the goal is a new consistent profile or a close match to existing work. Similar-looking molding can differ in dimensions and material; exact matches, custom milling and specialist restoration are not promised. Identify the supplied finish, such as unfinished or primed material. Approximate runs help prepare an estimate, but corners, joins and cuts affect the final material plan.
Coordinate with flooring, doorways and wall condition
Explain whether laminate or other floor work is already complete or planned, and show where trim meets thresholds, cabinetry and adjacent casing. Flooring movement requirements must be preserved; trim should not be treated as a way to force an unsuitable floor into place. Note uneven walls, damaged surfaces or door-clearance concerns. Underlying damage may need a separate scope before trim is installed. Structural alterations, door-opening changes, moisture remediation, electrical work and plumbing are excluded.
Separate fitting from the final painted finish
Agree whether the request covers installation only or also defined preparation and painting. Clarify nail-hole treatment, joint preparation, paint product and the surfaces to be painted rather than assuming a finished coat is included. Removing existing trim may expose wall or paint damage that needs separate review. Identify who supplies materials and who clears furniture from the working area. Removal, disposal, adjacent-wall touch-ups and whole-room painting are not automatic parts of the installation.

Use the form, call 224-395-4544 or email brushandbrightpaint@gmail.com. Include your Mount Prospect address and city, numbered room and trim list, approximate runs and opening dimensions, profile product links or safe photos, width and thickness, corners and returns, existing conditions and desired finish. Provide the home construction year and its source: paint-disturbing trim work is limited to verified 1979-or-newer homes. We review sound attachment surfaces, profile compatibility, flooring movement requirements, and applicable permit or licensing requirements before agreeing on installation. Removal, disposal, nail-hole or joint preparation, paint and adjacent-wall touch-ups need explicit scopes. No structural alterations or enlarged door openings are included; underlying moisture or damage needs separate assessment.
