What to include in your laminate request
A clear room-and-product brief helps distinguish installation from additional preparation or finishing work.
Selected laminate product
Share the exact model and current installation instructions.
Room measurements
Identify rooms, approximate dimensions and adjoining spaces.
Existing floor and substrate
Describe the known floor layers and observed condition.
Doorways and transitions
List thresholds and neighboring floor heights if known.
Baseboards and finishing edges
Say which trim stays and what you want changed.
Materials and room readiness
Identify supplied materials, furniture and access needs.
From product choice to an agreed installation
Identify: Share the product and rooms.
Review: Describe existing conditions.
Detail: Resolve transitions and edges.
Scope: Agree materials and responsibilities.
Arrange: Confirm room readiness and timing.
Review the product before committing to the order
Send a product link or label showing the exact laminate model, together with its current installation instructions. A wood-look description can also refer to vinyl or engineered wood, so identify the material accurately. Explain which rooms you want covered and whether the product is already purchased. Underlayment, moisture-related requirements, acclimation and movement allowances must follow the selected manufacturer’s instructions; no single package of materials suits every floor.
Describe the existing floor without disturbing it
Provide what you know about the current surface and substrate, including previous floor layers, unevenness, movement or dampness. Existing photos and safe observations are useful; do not lift old flooring or open assemblies to investigate. Concealed conditions may affect suitability and the accepted scope. Unresolved moisture needs attention before installation is agreed. Structural subfloor repair, moisture remediation and removal of potentially hazardous material are not included in this service.
Decide what happens at the edges
List doorways, adjoining floor types, thresholds, fixed cabinets and baseboards you want retained. Include doors that already rub so their condition is not confused with the proposed flooring work. Transitions, movement gaps and trim details need a plan compatible with the product and site. Baseboard removal or replacement, door adjustments and paint touch-up are separate scope items rather than automatic installation extras. New trim can be discussed as an associated task without turning the flooring request into a full remodel.
Agree the material list and room arrangements
Approximate room dimensions are a starting point, not a final purchasing quantity. Layout, cuts and product requirements affect the material plan. Clarify who supplies flooring, underlayment and transition pieces, and keep product labels available. Identify furniture, access restrictions and rooms that must remain usable. Agree clearance, any accepted removal or disposal and the boundary of finishing work before scheduling. A delivery date or submitted form does not by itself confirm installation readiness.

Mount Prospect Service Questions
Discuss your laminate flooring installation project
Use the form, call 224-395-4544 or email brushandbrightpaint@gmail.com. Include your Mount Prospect address and city, numbered room and task list, approximate dimensions, exact laminate product links and instructions, existing floor and substrate conditions, transitions, and desired finish. Add priorities, access and furniture arrangements, material supply responsibilities, and safe photos without lifting old flooring. Name, email and request are required; phone is optional.
Provide the home construction year and its source: paint-disturbing preparation or trim work is limited to verified 1979-or-newer homes. We review substrate readiness, manufacturer moisture, acclimation and movement requirements, and applicable permit or licensing requirements before accepting installation. Structural subfloor repair, moisture remediation and hazardous-material removal are excluded. Removal, disposal, trim and door adjustments require separate agreement; product delivery does not establish room readiness.
