Request a Northfield deck estimate
Contact Brush & Bright through the form, 224-395-4544 or brushandbrightpaint@gmail.com. Include your Northfield address, requested components, known finish history and access concerns. Name and email are required; phone is optional.
SMS consent is optional. Leave the checkbox unchecked if you do not wish to receive text messages. Read our Privacy Policy.
Create a requested-versus-retained surface record
For each component, note whether you want it finished or left unchanged. Include its material and previous coating if known. Rails and walking boards may need different suitability decisions even when they look similar. Undersides, hidden faces and dismantling are not automatically part of finishing. Keep optional components separate so the estimate has a clear boundary.

Keep unknown materials and coatings visible
You do not need to identify everything before asking. Wood, composite and PVC require different decisions, and this service request does not offer composite or PVC refinishing. Manufacturer restrictions must be respected. Share reliable product labels or history; worn areas do not prove the earlier finish is gone. Existing opaque coatings may restrict a grain-visible goal, without implying stripping is available.

Distinguish preparation from a repair problem
Describe peeling, recurring dampness, loose parts or soft-looking boards from normal observation. Do not scrape, sand or probe unknown surfaces to prepare the inquiry. Discuss appropriate cleaning, sanding and other preparation only after suitability is assessed. Finishing cannot repair unsound components or resolve moisture causes; unresolved concerns may require separate work before coating can be considered.

Agree the practical work and use arrangements
Explain nearby surfaces needing protection, who can move belongings and whether the deck is an essential route. Preparation and application depend on actual readiness and suitable conditions. Ask for selected-product guidance on walking, replacing furniture and cleaning as separate activities. The shared deck stain versus paint guide can help with appearance comparisons without replacing assessment of your deck.

  • Can I request the floor but leave the rails?
Yes. Identify retained components and where the new work should stop.
  • Are replacement boards guaranteed to match?
No. Material and existing-finish differences can remain visible.
  • Is a deck safety inspection included?
No. A finishing inquiry is not structural approval or repair.
  • Can photos help explain the request?
Safe overview photos may help. Ask how to share them; do not disturb surfaces.
