Request a Kildeer deck estimate
Request a Kildeer deck estimate through the form, call 224-395-4544 or email brushandbrightpaint@gmail.com. Include the address, components, desired change and known condition concerns. Name and email are required; phone is optional. Ask how to share safe overview photos if available.
SMS consent is optional. Leave the checkbox unchecked if you do not wish to receive text messages. Read our Privacy Policy.
Describe what changes and what stays
List the requested floor, steps, rails and edges with their materials if known. Identify faces that should remain untouched and nearby house finishes needing protection. Do not assume hidden faces, undersides or dismantling are included. If only selected components are wanted, keep the rest clearly excluded or optional rather than describing an undefined whole-deck project.

Review the appearance against the existing finish
Tell us about previous paint or stain and any product information available. Unknown history should remain unknown until assessed. An opaque coating can constrain a grain-visible change; stripping and transparent conversion are not assumed services. Paint or stain also does not guarantee that differently weathered or replacement boards will match. The central deck stain versus paint guide explains comparison questions in more detail.

Check material suitability and unresolved condition
Wood, composite and PVC need different decisions; this inquiry does not offer composite or PVC refinishing. Manufacturer restrictions and intended walking-surface use matter. Describe peeling, loose elements, soft-looking boards or repeated dampness from ordinary observation. Do not scrape, sand or probe to identify an unknown coating. Finishing cannot repair unsound material, provide structural approval or remove an underlying moisture cause.

Agree preparation, protection and care expectations
Discuss cleaning and preparation appropriate to the accepted surfaces and proposed coating. Identify belongings to move, nearby materials to protect and essential household access. Unresolved repairs or unsuitable actual conditions may affect readiness. Ask for separate selected-product guidance on walking, furniture return and cleaning, rather than relying on a dry appearance as permission for every activity.

  • Does an opaque finish eliminate wood texture?
Do not assume so. Discuss both color coverage and the texture likely to remain.
  • Can rails and floor use different approaches?
Their materials, existing finishes and use need individual consideration.
  • Are damaged boards replaced as part of finishing?
Not automatically. Repair or replacement needs must be identified separately.
  • What if I only know the desired color?
Start there, but expect material, coating and condition questions before scope is agreed.
