Build a component-based request

Use the same list when reviewing the estimate.
  • Door faces
Record fronts, backs and edges separately.
  • Drawer fronts
Distinguish exterior finishing from interior work.
  • Cabinet frames
Identify fixed surfaces at the openings.
  • Side and island panels
List exposed areas beyond the doors.
  • Inside and lower areas
Specify interiors, shelves and toe kicks.
  • Separate changes
Identify hardware and adjacent room work.

Make the cabinet estimate comparable

  • Inventory
List the components to be considered.
  • Condition
    Explain defects and finish concerns.
  • Preparation
    Clarify adhesion and surface expectations.
  • Compare
Check inclusions and exclusions against the list.
  • Handover
    Agree handling and cleaning guidance.
Request your McHenry cabinet estimate
Request a McHenry cabinet estimate using your component list and condition notes. Submit the form, call 224-395-4544 or email brushandbrightpaint@gmail.com. Name and email are required, with phone optional. Tell Brush & Bright which areas are priorities and which are only options.
SMS consent is optional. Leave the checkbox unchecked if you do not wish to receive text messages. Read our Privacy Policy.
Compare refinishing options with the cabinets you have
Compare more than a door count
Two requests with the same number of doors can include different work. One might include backs, island panels and interiors; another might leave those unchanged. Record the surfaces you want considered and the ones you are keeping. Ask that optional components stay distinguishable from the main estimate rather than relying on a broad cabinet-painting label.

Give condition concerns a place in the scope
Mention loose parts, peeling coatings, damaged edges or swollen material before choosing the finish. Share the substrate and prior coating if known. Some components may require separate attention or be unsuitable for painting. A new coating does not restore failed material, and unknown finishes should not be disturbed just to gather information.

Review the preparation assumptions
Ask how cleaning and retained coatings affect compatibility and adhesion, including any evaluation needed before application. Compare the included preparation, not simply the proposed color. Discuss visible grain, texture and previous patches so a finish update is not mistaken for a guarantee of perfectly smooth or identical surfaces.

Include access and aftercare in the conversation
Identify kitchen functions you rely on and areas that can be cleared. Ask how fronts and hardware will be handled, what protection is planned and where work occurs. Confirm instructions for reassembly, ordinary use and cleaning based on the chosen coating. Do not treat a preferred date or touch-dry surface as a complete readiness plan.

  • Is the lowest total necessarily the same job?
No. Compare included components, preparation, exclusions and handling arrangements before comparing totals.
  • Are exposed end panels automatically counted?
Do not assume that. Identify them explicitly along with island sides and toe kicks.
  • Can damaged components simply be painted over?
Their condition and cause need assessment; painting alone does not solve material failure.
  • When should I ask about cleaning the finish?
Before returning the cabinets to normal use, obtain coating-specific care instructions.
